*incoming* summer 2025 fashion predictions

As an avid Pinterest user, a personality trait anyone who consistently reads this blog already is well aware of, I’ve been picking up on a few overarching themes this season. The summer season is like a page turn on the ongoing race to figure out what is trending and what we should be wearing. The sun is shining and the closet is purring for some new style opportunities. In my pretty base-level, intuitive research, these are a few categories of dress that I feel will be all eyes and ears this summer, wherever the season may bring you! Enjoy my loves <3

2025 or 1952?

Is it just me or are we one step away from wearing poodle skirts?? As a girl who’s always loved a good polka dot and checkered piece, this season is like my Fashion Super Bowl! From high-neck, midi-short dresses, cat-eye vibrant shades, and the emergence of the infamous bustier one-piece, I fear the 50s may have never left.

Plaid in the summer?

A controversial take, but one I am willing to take on. Plaid has circulated in my life from day one, as nearly every baby picture of me showcases baby Kate is full Lacoste and plaid polos. Plaid has predominantly been associated with the Fall, a season of coziness, shades of tans and beiges, and PLAID. But I will argue, plaid can be done in a springy, summery way. My evidence is below, I rest my case.

Buttoned up

Buttoned up, in the coolest possible way. Buttons are like a new accessory in and of themselves. They have become less of a functional feature and more of an eye-catching detail that makes or breaks a piece. So if you’re ever bored with a top and thinking of getting rid of it, try buttons?

Squeaky, clean chrome

Chrome! A trend I didn’t think would last too long, but so happy that I was proven wrong! There has always been a hard line drawn between the gold and silver jewelry community, but the emergence of blindingly shiny chrome has been that fuse to bring the two metals together. However you work chrome into your fit, it’s a detail that I just find so so chic!

Layered in lace

And finally, one of my personal favorites, the extreme use of lace. Lace, arguably one of the most delicate fabrics out there, has been reimagined in so many ways. I’ve noticed Pinterest girlies stealing their grandma’s old doilies and sewing them together to create lace-looking masterpieces. We’ve seen lace everywhere, but often as a sheer garment rather than an entire outfit. The shift from letting the underwear speak for the outfit to turning heads with loud, lace patterns is undeniable.
